Scam E-mails

October 2, 2017

Beware of scam e-mails allegedly from the FBI and IRS. The electronic communications, which use the emblems of both agencies, request that the reader complete a required FBI questionnaire by clicking on a link. Don't click on the link or open any attachments. This is a phishing scam that aims to install a malicious program called ransomware on the user's computer, blocking access to data stored on the machine unless money is paid to the scammers.
